WELCOME TO MOUNTAINEER SWIMMING
Mount St. Mary’s University Swim Team is the baby of Varsity Sports. Experiencing its first
season at the Mount, this team, comprised of only 13 girls, found itself in
a whole other world of competition. In the swim team's 2005-2006 season as a
club team at the Mount, they participated in competitions with schools in
their conference and also went to the championships and participated as an
exhibition team.
With three returning
swimmers: Katie Fives, Katie Kelliher, and Lauren Rock, three walk on’s:
Katey Brengel, Karen Cox and Allie Doane, and seven recruits: Paige Chenet,
Maggie O’Connell, Mary Beth Kasda, Brittney Sharer, Marinia Wiscott, Kate
Ansman, Catherine Allen, Mount swimming was looking forward to a strong
season.
There were eight events in
the inaugural 2006-2007 season for mount swimming." I
look forward to the challenges of the inaugural season for the women’s
swimming program at the Mount,” said Yost. “We have some tough competitions
scheduled and I can’t wait to get started.” While there was only one home
meet this season, the mountaineers are looking forward to up to four home
meets in the 2007-2008 season.
